nlapiSubmitRecord Question

I am experiencing an issue with a client script where i'm using nlapiSubmitRecord to create a Transfer Order.

When setting nlapiSubmitRecord equal to a variable, such as var x = nlapiSubmitRecord(record), it should return an internal id.

The issue i am having is that sometimes x is returning null.

Please share your comments, thoughts, advice.
