Nested user events (userevent)

We have some user events that are firing inconsistently on item fulfillment records. Our thought is the records may be getting created or edited from another user event which is why the item fulfillment user event scripts aren't firing.

Does anyone know a way to find cases where a record is created from a user event which then won't trigger the usual events for that record? Is there anyway to look at a specific record and tell if it was created by a user event?
