Cannot set URL Component in items

I've been replacing about 50 non-inventory drop-ship items with the equivalent inventory items.  I created the inventory items with temporary names and Netsuite automatically set the URL component to "blah_2" (the original non-inventory item was using the "blah" url.  Then when I was ready to switch, I renamed the non-inventory items, cleared their "display in web site" field, and cleared the URL component field.  Then I changed the new items names away from the temporary version, set the "display in web site" field, and deleted the "_2" part of the URL component as there is no longer a conflict.  Trouble
