Best practice for Wholesale access

HI,
We use the basic version of netsuite (no advanced site customization). We have retail customers and wholesale customers logins. We would like to show some hardcoded information to our retail customers but not to our wholesalers (and vice versa). Can someone please give me the code to use to says tihs condition: "if login=retail then show xyz" or "if login=wholesaler then show abc".

Would the coding working in the html fields in NS (e.g the detailed description field of a product)
Or is it javascript and needs the advanced customization module?
I never did any javascripts so i am not sure how easy/complex it is. I can do html code though.
