customer form

Hello,

how can I create a customer form that can update field value in item record, (I want to create a form contains of textbox and submit button, that when a customer fill the textbox and click submit, a field will be updated in item record), I tried suitelet form, but it can't access the item record.

any help please, it's urgent...
