need a way to replace nlcolumncontents tag?

I'm looking for a way to replace a necessary tag only on one page (the home page): nlcolumncontents.

I tried making a custom tag for nlcolumncontents that contained the actual tag in it and substituting it on the homepage, but that created a loop of endless tag substitution. :eek:

Is there a way I can do this? Sounds like something fairly simple.
