Customer Kits?

I want to build a web page where the customer can select from a menu of chosen items and hit the order button at the end. Is this possible here is a description of what I am trying to do:-


I want to sell a light fitting with options:-

Choose Reflector     Aluminium : Glass: Mirrored
Choose Lamp          Metal Halide : Sodium : Mercury
Select Rim              None: Chrome : Gold : White
Option                    Security cover

The customer wants to make their selections and order.

The alternative is to make 48 products and a drill down tree. The manufacturer makes has 48 but this could be organised on a single webpage and the user experience would be much better. If possible it would be good to change the image based upon the options chosen.
