Scriptable cart breaks site

Hello

Good thanks. When I hit the checkbox to enable scriptable cart, it breaks the website. When you add an item to the cart it gives the "site down for maintenance" message. Awesome.

Is there a book or something I can read? The help guide is pretty unhelpful.
