Get Items field values on shopping cart page

Hello everyone,

I need to read the information of the items in the shopping cart page. I added a button which calls a client side function on message field in the Shopping Cart tab. I tried using the nlapiGetLineItemValue method, but did not work. Can anyone give me a light?
