SSP one page checkout "Proceed to Checkout"

I just noticed the "Proceed to Checkout" button on the new one page checkout cart page does not push me from the cart to the checkout -- when I hover over the button the url looks ok -- and if I right click on the button and "open tab in a new browser" I go to the cart..

Before I start ripping apart the code I was wondering if:
1) someone has seen this?
2) there is a quick fix?
