Problem with Extension/Custom Content Type Blog Tutorial

I'm trying to make an extension for a custom content type by following the blog tutorial Learn How to Develop an Extension for SuiteCommerce. I got the Encourage content type to show up in the SMT edit mode on the website. I can drop it into a page and save it. However, it doesn't show up and I get errors. 'Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'title' of undefined , Cannot read property 'selector' of undefined. I haven't been able to find any troubleshooting info that pertains to this issue. I'm using SCA and not SCS, which is the target for this extension. I changed the target to SCA in the manifest. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with that. I
