Recording Vendor Offers for Items

Hi

Please point me in the right direction.
We get many offers from Vendors for Items either via email, via an excel or csv list or simply by phone.

Currently we record this data in an xls sheet that we all, within the company, share. We would like to record this data against the Vendors we have in netsuite, negating the use of the extra xls.

I guess that I need to add a Transaction Type "Offer" so these "offers" can be shown in the History for the Vendors - can anyone shed any light on how this could be achieved ?
