How can I carry over UPCs from custom records to a printed work order traveler?

edited Dec 3, 2019 9:10AM in SuiteCloud / Customization

My company has a list of Universal Product Codes (UPCs) that are allocated to it. This is currently implemented as a spreadsheet:

UPC (required, unique)Assigned to Item (or null)Use (or null)
01234567890904321X5Outer Container
812345000016(null)(null)

Additionally, in Netsuite, on any item having a UPC allocated to it, we key it into an Item field. When we create a work order for the item, we print the item's UPC fields on the work order traveler.

Rather than maintain the UPC to Item relationship in two places, I'd like to eliminate the spreadsheet.

It was easy to create a UPC custom record type with three fields: the Name field, an Item field, and a Use field.

Howdy, Stranger!
