Customer-like entity record type

We are using Customer records and Partner records. Customer records are auto-numbered and prefixed with a C, Partners with a P.

We would like to create a new type of entity record type, that acts like a customer and has a similar field structure as a Customer. But we would like to prefix these records with E.

Is there way to create this type of record? Thanks.
