Sourcing Document Numbers

I'm having an issue where I need to see the Estimate Number on my invoices.  I thoguht I could use the Created From field, but that comes from the Order Number.  So I thought I could create a custom field on the Order that would source from the Estimate Number, but I just can't get it to work. Any suggestions?
