Unable to retreive custom field value on item fulfillment

When I try to retreive the value of a custom tranasction column field using the function nlapiGetLineItemValue on the item fulfillment form the value returned is null.  Specifically the the custom field is setup as display type normal and applies to purchase, sale, item fulfillment, view from order only.  If I deselect the "view from order only"  I can retreive a value from the field using the function nlapiGetLineItemValue.  It looks like this is a Netsuite bug which occurred after the last minor upgrade several weeks ago.  This is also effecting our integration with OZLink that traps for certain order
