Limit Contact List

I seem to be struggling with something that doesn't seem that hard on the surface.  I have a Custom Record Type.  On that Custom Record Type I have a field that is a List/Record linking to a Customer Record.  I have another List/Record linking to a Contact field.  What I'd like to do is limit the Contact List/Record to Contacts on the Customer List/Record.

So the workflow would be: user creates new Custom Record Type, user picks Customer from List, user picks Contact from list which is limited to Contacts attached to aforementioned Customer.

Any suggestions?
