Document Links Outside NetSuite?

Hello,
I was wondering if it were possible to include URL links to PDF documents stored in NetSuite in an excel spreadsheet? Someone in our office tried to do it and it posed an error message. It's probably because of the security access to NetSuite, but I was wondering if it was possible.
