Permissions for custom fields and custom lists
I've recently setup a field, grade, of type list / record that uses a custom list. I'm trying to figure out permissions for this field and who can edit it. What I don't understand is I haven't explicitly set the custom list permission at all on the particular sales person role, yet they can't add new values to the list. This is good, I just don't understand the default behavior of setup permissions for things you haven't added to a role?
Is there a default? Should I add custom lists to this role since it is already functioning the way I want? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
