How do source Inventory Details (Item Serial Numbers)

hi,

I have created transaction column field 'Inventory Detail'
Type: Free from Text.
Under validation and defaulting tab, default Value --> {inventorydetail}
Formula checked
Store value unchecked

but output is not as inventory details I selected on line item for that item.

Anyone please suggest how do I source Inventory details in transaction column field.
