Custom Text Area field with Display Size resized itself today

Anyone else see this problem already and have a defect number?  We have a Text Area Field that I had set with a width of 300 and Height of 5. Yesterday it fit quite nicely on custom form.  Today when in Chrome and in Edit the field was way too wide.  I edited the field to compensate but why did this happen?
