Setting paper size to A4 in Advanced PDF Templates

The documentation says that you can set paper size by adding size="A4" to the body tag. But if you do this the parameter gets removed when you save the template, no error is reported. Does anyone know if this is a known bug and if there is a workaround? My PDF templates all seem to default to US Letter size.
