Custom fields and page load times

Hello, everyone,

I am interested in finding out how custom fields effect the loading times of Netsuite records.  If I need to add many fields to a specific record type, at what point will it (if at all) noticeably effect that record's loading times?  If it is substantial, would removing the fields from a form cause the page to load faster for users of that form?
