List/Record field sourced from Customer on Project

I'm working to create a way to pull data from the Sales Order that is attached to a project. Since I've discovered the Related Records > Transactions sublist is not a searchable/scriptable list I'm going a different direction. I'm attempting to create a custom field of type List/Record. The List/Record will be Transactions. How can I set up the Sourcing and Filtering on the custom field to only load Sales Orders from the specific Customer (Parent) on the project?
