Void Payments vanishing from bank Reconciliation

I voided a bill payment. WHen doing the reconciliation both the original entry and the journal entry appeared. I checked both and everything reconciled ie Difference Zero. However when I saved and/or printed the original payment was not there and so the reconcilation did not balance by the amount of the payment.
If neither is checked then the statement reconcile but the journal entry is shown as uncleared (correctly) but there is no corresponding entry for the void payment.
Any ideas?
