Locking transaction date on cash transactions

Hi all,

Is there a way to lock the transaction date on only cash transactions?

I want any checks cut to only reflect today's date, the date they are actually cut.  All other transactions, I am not as concerned about the transaction date as we use accounting periods.  The cash date can affect prior bank recs, so it's annoying if someone accidentally keys in the wrong date.

Any help would be appreciated - thanks!
