Possible to Left Join and Show Blanks?

Hello,

I'm trying to do a customer search that uses the tasks that are associated with that customer.  Unfortunately, when you attach a result from the task record for those customers that do not have a task, the search will omit that customer, similar to an inner join.  Is it possible to show the customer even though there is not a task associated with it?
