formula calculation question

I am trying to figure out how to calculate the Gross Margin Dollars per day.

Here are the columns I have
Field ................... Summary Type ... Formula
Date ................... Group
Formula(Numeric) ... count ............... count(DISTINCT({number}))
Formula(Numeric) ... sum ................. ({netamount}-({item.cost}*{quantity}))

Here is the formula I am having a problem with. It is to calculate the GM$ per day, any idea's why it would keep throwing an error?

Formula(Numeric) ... sum ................. ({netamount}-({item.cost}*{quantity}))/count(DISTINCT({number}))
