Help creating search/report to display summary of Cases Grabbed by support rep

We need to analyze the number of cases being grabbed by support reps.  I have tried using system notes based on assigned to being blank and then not blank but I can't determine how to create a summary that compares all reps or any search or report that accumulates this data without creating one report per rep with a static rep name compare per search.
