Calculate if today matches a day based on a field

Hi

I want to work out the date if I have a number to subtract from a day. For example, I have a date field called "Contract End Date" and another field called "Notice period(days)". By subtracting the number of  "Notice period(days)" from "Contract End Date" I want to get the notice date, for example give its the 30th jan and notice of 15, i wish to see 15 Jan.

How do I do this in a custom search?
