Transaction Body Field Access with Filters Required

I am having difficulty setting up a search for payments that are applied to invoices including the payment method. It seems that the payment method data is only accessible from the deposit side of the transaction and not the applied to side of the transaction.

That said, when add a filter to include only payments whose applied to transaction is not null I the payment method is blank. This is a road block as I need payment method info and another payment header field (custom) as well as information from the applied to transaction in the search.

Has anyone encountered this issue and if so, could you please share your work around.
