force search to honor line breaks

edited Jan 3, 2020 1:05AM in Search / Reporting

I have a transaction search the is pulling results from a custom field on sales orders.

The field is type "text area" and includes multiple lines of text generated by a script that separates them by <br> so when it is viewed on the sales order it displays nicely.

Unfortunately the search results don't like to play along.

I figured out that if I used a formula(text) results column to source that field I can at least consistently get it to display all of the information from that field however it is not formatted nicely.  Each line runs into the next and only wraps when it reaches the end of NetSuite's seemingly arbitrary results column widths.
