Associate costs with Item--maybe Landed?

Situation: we sell training classes, set up as an inventory item...  the units are open seats, which the avail declines as we fill the class.  there are expenses associated with the training class, like room rental, a/v rental, etc...

How can I associated these expenses to the item.  I am messing with Landed Cost...  but am discouraged on the other posts I read when I search the group on that topic...

any suggestions?
