In Transit / Customs / WIP Location

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had any 'best practice' suggestion for dealing with importing items to (upfit and) sell.  They are imported to Australia from the UK, and therefore are on a ship/in customs for anything up to six months.  We have been using an 'On the Water' location in Netsuite for testing which seems to work, however is a bit messy.

Similarly, we manufacture items that take a week to build.  We are using a similar technique there and having two Netsuite locations set up (Production and Sales) at the one physical location.  When an assembly item is completed, someone needs to transfer it from the Production location to the Sales location (which can be hard to manage where things are up to without an MRP system to control).

Howdy, Stranger!
