Item Receipt - Serial Number Character Limit

Hi,

We purchase multiples of lets say 500 serialised units which upon item receipt have 15 character serial numbers. As soon as we get to around 160 line items being booke in on a single line we can go no further. Is this field limited or can it be changed?
