Receiving with bar code scanning and serial numbers

We have purchase orders of 50 different items for a total quantity of 1000 pieces that are all serialized.
We struggle at receiving because once we have scanned the product code we need to manually go to the serial number field in order to scan the serial numbers, then to manually come back to the product code scanning field...Etc...

Is there a way of receiving by doing for each piece a scan of the product code then a scan of a serial number?
