Total in bins not equalling the location total

When you look in your inventory and notice the bin tab totals do not equal the location tab total has anyone else had this problem and know what causes this to happen. I thouhgt it was because my sales reps we not choosing the location so it wouldnt pull from a bin inside that location. Any suggestions
