Inventory Transfer cost tracking

We often transfer inventory between locations, but have not been able to determine how to capture the cost of these transfers and allocate said costs to specific items.  This is akin to landed cost, but it appears there is no way to apply the "internal freight" expense to the transferred items in order to get the corrent inventory value at the final location.  Does anyone have a workaround for this?
