Kits and Matrices - incompatible?

I want to create a matrix item with one choice: colors. This particular item can only be ordered by customers in boxes of 100. At the same time, the vendor we buy from requires the purchase order to be in individual quantities (ex. 100 for a box of 100).

So the simple solution? Create a kit with 100 of a matrix parent item (or create a matrix of kit items). However, NetSuite cannot currently do either of those, so I am stuck with customization. Does anyone have a solution for something similar to this problem?
