Average Sales

I have searched the forum and apologies if this has been covered but I cannot find it anywhere. In fact, I would be surprised if it hasn't been covered.

I am customising a stock view within a supplier to show stock on hand, stock on order etc which is all fine. What I need is a column showing average sales for a given period. Or even actual (instead of average) sales for a given period.

I am completely at a loss as to how to achieve this. I've had a real crack but no joy...

Any pointers would be fantastic!
