Almost Identical Items from Multiple Vendors
I've run into a tough issue and I'm unsure about how to solve it. I'm hoping I can get some help from the group!
We currently source nearly identical generic items from multiple vendors. The changes are small enough that unless a customer requests a specific model, we just send out what is currently in stock. For example, Widget A has a square connector and Widget B has a round connector, but both serve the same function. Widget A is also a slightly different shade of blue than Widget B, but both could be described as Navy Blue. Nonetheless, the differences are big enough that some customers only want one, regardless of our stock at the time.
