Looking into using barcoding - Please pass on suggestions/considerations

Hello,
We're looking into using inventory barcoding to help streamline the fulfillment processes of our shipping and receiving staff.
The ultimate goal would be to eliminate errors related to the fulfillment of incorrect items and hopefully make the process more efficient overall....

After doing some research, it sounds like the "Symbol LS4278" cordless scanner may be the best option, as I hear the Symbol line is what Netsuite uses for their own troubleshooting and development. Does anyone have any opinions to share on this scanner or a similar model?

Does anyone have any other suggestions or considerations we should make before diving into barcoding?
