Phasing in units of measure into lot numbered items

Does anyone have any suggestions for transitioning into units of measure for lot numbered items? I sell pharmaceuticals in bottle of 100. Prior to this feature, I simply added that unit of measure to the description. If I now set the sales, stock, and purchase units to BTL/100, my inventory and prices will be off by a factor of 100. Any ideas?
