Mass Update of Prices

Anyone who manages lots of skus, matrix items found a way to efficiently managing end of season markdowns?

We use Base Price as our 'regular price' and 'online price' as our current selling price.  A large portion of our inventory is seasonal at the end of the season we go through a couple of markdown exercises on hundreds of items.  Currently I can't find a way to make the Mass Update of Item Prices work for us.  What we really need is for the BASED ON field to allow us to choose "current base price" so we can specify a % such online price =  current base price less (20)%.  Today the BASED ON field only allows you
