Tracking fixed assets

What's the best way to track fixed assets using NS?  In other words, if Employee A takes Equipment A to JobSite A for use in Project A, how do I track that?

The only way that I can see is to create Locations for every job site and assign the equipment to them.  Has anyone else come up with a better plan?
