Update costing method: Average to FIFO

edited Nov 26, 2019 8:40AM in Accounting / ERP 5 comments

We need to change our costing method from Average to FIFO.

Does not appear to be any easy way to do this.

According to Netsuite, these are the steps that need to switch:

Our current inventory (approx 80,000 items) needs to be inactivated

The global costing method needs to be changed from Average to FIFO

All our inventory items need to be created as new Netsuite items

All open POs, sales orders, etc need to have th inventory items updated to the new items
Has any one else gone through the process of changing costing methods?

Anyone have any recommendations?  There is an open enhancement #20211, that Netsuite says I should vote on, but I can not pull that enhancement number up in the voting system.  Guess this enhancement request goes all the way back to 2001.

Howdy, Stranger!
