Estimates - Commit items

Odd question, but is it possible to have items commit / allocate within an Estimate? As is, the items will only commit and allocate inventory when they are changed over to a Sales Order.

We use Estimates a bit non-traditionally, and it would be nice to have items commit when they are entered in an Estimate.
