Available Plus On Order value in saved searches

I am trying to create a custom Low Stock alert utilizing the Reorder Point, Available Qty and On Order Qty.
I use the following:
Formula (Numeric)
is less than 0
{quantityonorder}+{quantityavailable}-{reorderpoint}

Odd thing though is it works perfectly if I have items on order but when the item is currently not on order it fails.  I put the formula into my results and it is returning null if the item has nothing on order.

Has anyone else run into this?  Any workarounds?
