Demand Planning Algorithm

I working to implement a better system for managing inventory levels.  I am wondering if anyone knows how the calculations are made for the Demand Planning feature in Netsuite.  Specifically, what is the formula/calculation that Netsuite uses to auto-calculate the reorder points and preferred stock levels?  I can't find this specifics about how this is calculated in any of the Forum posts or in the Netsuite Help Center. Any help with this would be much appreciated.
