New Serial / Lot Number Picker

There is a great new feature in 2011.2: a pop-up serial/lot# picker for Inventory Adjustment, Inventory Transfer, and Assembly Build transactions. THANK YOU NETSUITE!!!

I initially missed this in the release notes because it is described in conjunction with (AKA buried in the description of) the new bin pop-up picker. However, the bin pop-up functionality and serial/lot# functionality can be used separately.

We don't use bins, but we do use serial and lot numbers. To enable this new feature, go to Setup > Company > Enable Features > Items & Inventory > Advanced Bin/Numbered Inventory Management. Don't be thrown off by the description; bins won't be turned on unless you also select 'Bin Management'. Conversely, selecting 'Advanced Bin/Numbered Inventory Management' won't enable serial/lot# tracking - this is determined by the separate 'Serialized Inventory' and 'Lot Tracking' options.
